FACULTY
The Yoga Den offers instruction from Yoga Teachers
with a broad range of skills and depth of training and experience.
The principal faculty include:
David McAmmond, who
is a teacher trainer with over 30 years of teaching experience. David
has been instrumental in training many of Alberta's finest teachers.
Colin Hall
is a full-time yoga teacher since 2002. In addition to his
numerous classes at Bodhi Tree Yoga and around the city,
he also teaches credit courses at the University of Regina
in the departments of both Kinesiology and Religious Studies.
Sarah Garden is the
province's most qualified and experienced teacher in therapeutic yoga.
Her knowledge of anatomy and physiology is seamlessly integrated into
her yoga classes and teacher-training sessions.
PROGRAM PREREQUISITES
The most important prerequisite is a passion to learn
and a willingness to change and grow. Ideally, students should have
attended Yoga classes consistently for two or more years or completed
200 hours of Yoga practice.
An applicant should do the following:

complete an application;
-
complete a short essay explaining why you want to become a yoga
teacher and wish to do Teacher Training at The Yoga Den.

provide a letter of recommendation from your Yoga Teacher or a
character/professional reference.
PROGRAM DATES & TIME REQUIREMENTS:
Students will receive classroom instruction consisting of 6-hour classes
taught every second or third Saturday. Classes are from 1:00-6 p.m
with a one-hour lunch break. In total, students will spend 150 hours
in these classes. Approximately another 8 hours should be reserved
biweekly for homework assignments. Students will also need to schedule
two, 1.5 hour classes per week. They will attend the Thursday Intermediate
(7:30-9:30 p.m.) class or Monday Level 1 (7:30-9 p.m.) class and apprentice
(observe, assist, and teach) in at least one other Yoga Den class preferably
at the Beginners Level.
In total, students will spend 150 hours in these classes.
TUITION:
The cost of the The Hatha Yoga Studies/Teacher
Training Program is $2500. A refundable deposit of $500 is required
at time of acceptance and upon commencement of the program the deposit
becomes non-refundable. The balance of $2000 is due and payable shortly
after the program begins. A payment plan is available upon request.
